My favourite part about going on holiday is all the time I get to spend relaxing and reading and while my holiday was a bit hectic what with attending a wedding and going on 4 flights in 10 days it was made even better by this book.
Jill Mansell tells a tale of three different characters each who are protagonists in their own rights but all differing from the next. It isn’t until over halfway into the book that we’re shown how they’re interlinked and the impact they have on each other’s lives. I love books/films which show different characters and their relationship (aka Love Actually) because somehow we can relate to at least one of them providing the perfect form of escapism.
From the title Three Amazing Things About You you’d think this was a self help book where you’d learn to value three things about yourself which I guess you do, but the three things aspect only comes into play when we see one of the protagonists runs an agony aunt website and she wants her writers to write three things about themselves before sharing their problems. This made me think, what would my three things be and would I be able to share them if I were a character in the book.
Anyway, without giving too much away this is 100% a must read and if you’re like me you’ll even shed a tear at the end of this book which shows how short life really can be.
