L’Oreal Paris True Match Foundation

The foundation quest continues and this time I’m all about possibly the biggest make-up brand in the world: L’Oreal.

The company recently relaunched True Match with adverts literally everywhere from Instagram to billboards to TV and if it’s good enough for Cheryl then it’s good enough for me!

I remember reading somewhere that this is actually a dupe for Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation and with the price of GA recently rising to £40, I am definitely willing to try something cheaper.

I chose shade 3W Golden Beige which wasn’t a perfect match but it added a slight tan to my face – in a good way.

First thoughts: I applied this with a stippling brush and no concealer to see about the coverage and concluded that it’s medium but can be built up quite a bit. The finish is dewy so those with oily skin might want to apply a matte primer before application.

I wanted to love this foundation because I’d read so many positive reviews about it but it gave me the worst breakout ever. In fact, a week later I still have a huge bump on my face from this.

At first, I tried to convince myself this foundation wasn’t killing my skin but there were spots forming while I was still wearing it and they were red, angry, under the skin style spots – the worst!

If you have sensitive skin I recommend thoroughly patch testing before using this but it isn’t a dupe for Luminous Silk which never once irritated my skin.

  • True Match retails at £9.99
